“Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” -Phil 4:6

The Lord is ready to help you with all that you need. No intention is too big or too small. Just speak to the Lord from your heart, ask him for what you need, and trust that he is working to bring about good.

##Pray

###Prayer in the morning or at night:

Lord, you know what I need before I ask, but I know that you still want me to come to you and ask anyway, no matter what my needs are. With a heart full of gratitude and love, I ask you to please grant that [enter intention]. Lord, I love you, and I thank you for all that you give me. I ask you to please grant this intention, and I pray as you taught us: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

###Scripture passages to repeat:

“Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” -Phil 4:6

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” -1 Cor 10:13

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” -Prov 3:5-6

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” -Lk 1:37

“The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.” -Jas 5:16

“Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” -Josh 1:9

###Who to pray to for intercession: the Blessed Mother

We recommend praying to the Blessed Mother because she cares about all of her children and helps them with all their needs. The Memorare prayer speaks to this care and her powerful intercession.

Memorare:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

##Cooperate with God

Sometimes God answers prayers by working through practical means in life. In addition to praying, take some time to consider what you might need to do in your life in order to keep the door open for God to work and answer your prayers. In addition to the things you identify, here are a few things we recommend to keep the door open:

  • Receive the sacrament of Confession monthly or weekly. Keep your soul as open to grace as possible by frequently receiving absolution through the sacrament of Confession.
  • Receive the Eucharist often (daily, if possible).
  • If you have the opportunity to attend Eucharistic Adoration, spend at least a half hour there. Be sure part of the time is spent listening to God in silence.
