To navigate the spiritual life, you need to understand who you are, where you came from, where you're going, and how to get there. Just as a captain of a ship needs to know the crew, supplies, maps, and capabilities of the ship, as well as the circumstances of the trip, you must understand things about your capabilities as a human person, who you are journeying with, what supplies and instructions you need to arrive in heaven, and what the circumstances of your spiritual journey will entail.

When you understand these things, you can:

  • become a person of integrity
  • create a plan for your spiritual life
  • strengthen your relationship with God, and love your neighbor
  • feel confident about how to follow Christ in today’s world
  • identify spiritual readings that will develop your spiritual life
  • have humility
  • develop a habit of prayer that’s effective for your spiritual growth
  • identify how to live God’s call for you within your state in life
  • identify the type of people you want to surround yourself with
  • build habits that are virtuous
  • deepen your relationship with the Blessed Mother and the saints
